What is Magnetic Rubber Base?

Magnetic Rubber Base is a flexible, low-to-medium viscosity base gel designed to create excellent adhesion to the natural nail.

But calling it simply a “base coat” doesn't really explain what it can do.

Rubber Base can be used:

• as an adhesion layer underneath Gelpolish

• underneath the builder gels

• underneath other artificial nail systems

• to reinforce natural nails

• to create a smooth, structured, natural nail overlay

• as part of a non-filing salon technique

• to improve the foundation of services where lifting has been a problem

Its consistency allows you to work an extremely thin layer into the natural nail for adhesion, while its self-levelling properties let you build a second layer and create a beautiful upper arch.

That means one product can perform two very different jobs: adhesion and structure.

Lifting isn't something we should simply accept as “normal”.

Good retention comes from a combination of proper preparation, proper product choice, proper application, and proper curing.

Rubber Base is designed to grip the natural nail extremely well while remaining flexible.

That flexibility is particularly useful when working on natural nails, which move. A very rigid product placed onto a flexible nail isn't always the ideal combination. Rubber Base works with the natural nail to create the foundation for products placed above it.

We've all had those clients. Their nails are thin.
They bend easily, and they struggle to grow them, and the gelpolish manicure just doesn't last , 
Or perhaps the nail plate is uneven and needs a little extra support.This is where Rubber Base becomes incredibly useful.

You can use Rubber Base to add extra strength and structure to any nails for a Gelpolish manicure, for long-lasting support and wear. The second layer can be self-levelled to create an apex and correct small irregularities in the nail surface.This creates a beautifully thin, natural-looking result without overly bulky nails.

But what about genuinely damaged nails?

This is where professional judgement matters.

There is a difference between a naturally thin or flexible nail and a nail plate that has been severely over-filed or damaged.

If the nail is extremely thin, sore, red or significantly compromised, our priority should be the health of the natural nail - not simply covering the damage with another product. If the nail plate structure is compromised, use a layer of Seal & Protect as a prep to seal all damaged fibres, improve adhesion, and visibly restore the nail plate.  With Seal & Protect, you can skip the filing (buffing) of the nail and prevent further damage to the nail plate. 

 

Which Rubber Base should I choose?

The great thing is that the different Rubber Base shades offer the same adhesion concept with different finishing options.

Rubber Base Clear

Crystal clear and probably the most universal option.

Perfect when you primarily want Rubber Base for adhesion underneath another product, or when you want a completely transparent natural nail overlay.

This is one I would always have on my salon desk.

Rubber Base Frosted Pink

A beautiful soft pink that is fantastic for natural-looking manicures and slightly uneven nail plates.

It gives the nail a fresh, clean appearance without looking heavy.

Rubber Base Cool Cover

A cooler camouflage pink.

Beautiful for natural overlays, nude manicures and Babyboomer/French-style services where you want a cooler base.

Rubber Base Warm Cover

A warmer camouflage pink that pairs beautifully with a warmer nude that complements the client's skin tone.

Instead of thinking, “Which Rubber Base has the best adhesion?”, choose the shade according to the finish you want to create.

The adhesion comes from the Rubber Base system - the colour gives you options.
